1987 Honda CRX DX

A Canadian 1987 CRX DX which has been a true labour of love to create. Named “Blacktop” since the top half is black (and the nickname name of the engine), it was purchased in 1999, as a base car with the stock 1.5 carb engine, blown exhaust and dead clutch, but the lightweight (around 1800 lbs or so) chassis had potential. A 135 hp JDM 1.6 DOHC Blacktop ZC engine was sourced a JDM 88 Integra, breathing through a 2.25” exhaust. The entire vehicle wiring harness, fuel injected lines, pump and tank were from an 87 Si, as well as the seats and door panels. The transmission and engine harness as well as misc running bits were taken from an 89 Integra parts car, including ECU, and rear axle with disc brakes. A digital instrument cluster from a JDM Ballade Sports CR-X and a DOHC steering wheel completed the interior, along with OEM optional audio console, rear speaker kit and cassette player with EQ. A set of designed for the chassis 14” Mugen CF-48, OEM DOHC decals, and CDM upper rear spoiler were added to the otherwise stock exterior. Owners manual, service manuals and keys as well as US, CDM, EDM and JDM brochures. More little bits being added soon to make it the vision that was planned over 20 years ago, and a historic part of of the OBLIVION Collection!

Part of the collection and not for sale at this time.
